Founded in 2002 by three expatriate Westerners living in Japan, Kurodahan Press is poised to become an important new voice in publishing. Combining innovative printing and distribution techniques with a solid background in professional translation, Kurodahan Press will serve readers around the world from its home base in Fukuoka.

We welcome contributions and suggestions from readers, writers, and translators. This site will introduce you to our plans and ambitions. It also gives you the chance to join us as we begin to explore new levels of service in the publishing world.

Kurodahan Press is pleased to announce a joint publishing effort with the Center for Asian Studies at Arizona State University. We will work together on new editions of valuable works from their monograph series. The first set of three titles is scheduled to be released in 2004. <more>

We have recently signed an agreement to translate and publish an anthology of Japanese horror fiction, provisionally named "Lairs of the Hidden Gods." We are looking for skilled translators to help us complete this multi-volume, multi-year project. The first volume was released in March 2005, but work is proceeding on following volumes as well.
