The Edogawa Rampo Reader, translated by Seth Jacobowitz, was reviewed in the July 2009 issue of the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, probably the leading mystery magazine in the English language.

Reviewer Jon L. Breen briefly described the eighteen works included, referring to Rampo as a "...twentieth-century giant" in the mystery field and stressing the enormous influence of Edgar Allan Poe on Rampo's thinking and work.
